Baby Giraffe Sculpture Acquired by Lion Country Safari

Edrian Thomidis is honored to have one of her ceramic sculptures on permanent display at the offices of Lion Country Safari.

The zoo’s director of marketing and public relations for the park, Jennifer Berthiaume described the sculpture as a “lovely piece”. The sculpture comes only a week after the zoo welcomed baby giraffe “Kimberlina”.

The artwork depicts a baby giraffe sitting on a meadow and chewing on a couple of leaves. There’s a small heart shaped patch on it’s neck.

Local resident and award winning artist, Edrian Thomidis sculpted the giraffe from clay, which was then fired and glazed. Her inspiration was her love for giraffes and the close and personal encounters she has had with these beautiful animals as a regular visitor of the zoo over the years. She describes Giraffes as gentle giants, they are graceful, yet incredibly powerful and strong. She hopes her sculpture inspires others to protect our natural world.

Lion Country Safari is Florida’s only drive-through safari and walk-through amusement park with over 1000 animals. Located just west of West Palm beach in Loxahatchee.
