I am…an artsy soul…
Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, I moved to the U.S. with my family at the age of 15. My formal training and background is in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Florida in 1997 where I graduated with honors.
I have designed web sites since 1995 for some of the most notable fortune 500 companies including: Microsoft, Discovery Channel, Sony, Pepsi, Credit Suisse First Boston, Colonial Penn, Baptist Hospital, Rheem, and Autonation to name a few. My work has been seen all over the world on countless high profile websites and online ad campaigns. I owned and operated a graphic design studio, featuring commercial graphic design, illustration, and digital media, for over 12 years.
In 2014, I was inspired by a clay class at the Armory Art Center and discovered a new passion in ceramics. I use art as a way to express my thoughts and feelings in a creative way and to document a slice of my life. I am currently fostering my creative spirit producing work that is expressive, whimsical yet slightly odd. My figurative ceramics and mixed media are all about storytelling. Each detail has personal meaning. However it is up to each individual to interpret and connect with each piece in their own unique way. The surface is layered with low fire glazes, stains, and oxides to bring each sculptural figure to life. My work has been displayed locally at the Armory Art Center, Art on Park Gallery, The Nathan D.Rosen Museum Gallery of the Levis JCC of Boca Raton and at Artisans on the Ave.
I currently reside in Wellington, Florida and when I’m not at the studio, I am spending time with my husband and two kids.
I LOVE the process of creating.
