About Artist Edrian Thomidis

I am…an artsy soul…

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, I moved to the U.S. with my family at 15. My formal training and background are in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Florida in 1997 where I graduated with honors.

I have designed websites since 1995 for some of the most notable Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Discovery Channel, Sony, Pepsi, Credit Suisse First Boston, Colonial Penn, Baptist Hospital, Rheem, and Autonation to name a few. My work has been seen all over the world on countless high-profile websites and online ad campaigns. I owned and operated a graphic design studio, featuring commercial graphic design, illustration, and digital media, for over 12 years.

In 2014, I was inspired by a clay class at the Armory Art Center and discovered a new passion for ceramics. I use art as a way to express my thoughts and feelings in a creative way and to document a slice of my life. I am currently fostering my creative spirit by producing work that is expressive, whimsical yet slightly odd. My figurative ceramics and mixed media are all about storytelling. Each detail has a personal meaning. However, it is up to each individual to interpret and connect with each piece in their own unique way. The surface is layered with low-fire glazes, stains, and oxides to bring each sculptural figure to life.

Since 2014, I have participated in multiple local and national exhibits and received several awards and honorable mentions for my figurative ceramic sculptures. I continue to expand on my skills by attending workshops from established artists such as Kirsten Stingle, Cristina Cordoba, and Phillipe Faraut. My work is collected internationally and can be found in many private collections and regional galleries. I am an active member of the Ceramic League of the Palm Beaches, the Wellington Art Society, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, and the Women in the Visual Arts organization.

I currently reside in Wellington, Florida and when I’m not at the studio, I spend time with my husband and two kids.

I LOVE the process of creating.
